Staying hydrated is a state that your body necessarily requires, and this is only achieved by drinking an adequate amount of water daily, the human body in its vital functions, daily eliminates liquids from the body, this is done through feces, urine, sweat, saliva, nasal secretions and in more sporadic cases through vomiting.

That is why a minimum water intake is so necessary. There is much speculation about the ideal amount of water the body requires per day, but this information is not as general as people think, and depends on several factors, including gender, body weight, age and energy expenditure per day.

For Staying Hydrated, males should consume at least 131 ounces of water, and females 95 ounces, these recommendations are given by the IOM for adults, infants from 4 to 8 years old require a water consumption of 40 ounces daily, from 9 to 13 years old the consumption should be between 55 and 65 ounces daily, and for young people from 14 to 18 years old this consumption should be 65 to 90 ounces daily.
